I78 Multiple Vehicle Accidents

January 26, 2016

The morning started out with heading to I78 W in the area of M/M 25 for an MVA involving a tractor trailer. As freezing rain was now over taking our area things quickly grew worse. Between Shartlesville and Lenhartsville there were now reported multiple vehicle accidents all involving at least 1 if not more tractor trailers. With the aid of Fire Police and PENN Dot I78 was completely shut down in order for us to gain control of the scenes. The incident around MM 26 resulted in the tractor trailer loosing its load. Crews remained on the highway for several hours until debris and clean up could be completed. The highway was finally able to be reopened around 15oo hours.

Santa Came to Town

Dec. 20, 2015

Although Santa is quite busy this time of year he was able to spend the evening greeting the children of Hamburg. Santa’s helpers where giving out candy canes to all that came out to greet him. The boys and girls of the 61 house
have all been good this year Santa! There was even some dancing involved to get everyone warmed up for the night of walking ahead.

October Busy Month of Fire Prevention

October was a busy month filled with fire prevention at Tilden Elementary and various preschools and daycare’s through out Hamburg Boro. The children were taught the importance of not being afraid of firefighters and what to do in case of an emergency. A highlight for the kids was being able to try on the firefighters gear and put out their own fire with the hose. At Tilden members did a mock vehicle extrication, even getting the Principal in on the action! It is always a great time and learning experience when surrounded by kids.
