Co 61 spent the day with our friends at the Tilden Elementary Center for Fire Prevention Day. Crews split up into two groups to cover smoke detector, fire extinguisher training and safety lead by Chief Hatt, hands on while another group saw a car extrication that was performed by crews outside of the school which was lead by Deputy Chief Emes outside.
Students were then treated to lunch with the fire fighters. Crews however er had to dash out of one of the lunch groups to take in a Possible structure fire on Walnut Street in Hamburg, for reports of alarms sounding from the row home. Co 61 crews found the cause to have been burnt plastic, units cleared the fire scene and returned to the school. Crews returned to finish lunch and the demonstrations, before ending our day at 3pm.
Thanks to the students from Tilden Elementary for having us over for the day everyone enjoyed it.!!!
