Company completes Truck II class, thanks to the crews from West Reading, Western Berks, Strausstown who all completed the final hands on drill. Crews used tools from both Ladder 61 and RE61 to complete the Denver Drill and also went over advanced operations of the truck company. Thanks to the Blue Mountian Accadmey for allowing us to use a aquired building for the hands on drill.

This Sunday crews gathered at the acquired structure in Tilden Township for the hands on skill day of the firefighter survival class that was being taught in house at station 61. Crews had the chance to review wall breaches, window and ladder bail outs, and basic tool use to help with survival skills that are often needed while operating at emergency scenes. Thanks to the instructors for there help during the class.

On Tuesday Members from the Hamburg, Shoemakersville, and Virginville Fire Departments gathered for a group training session. In all 45 members attending a class that was presented by Sal DePrisco, on Solar Panel Emergency for the Fire Service Responder. This gave a chance to show members what to look for when responding to incidents involving Solar Panels. Sal Provided a great presentation that everyone enjoyed. This class will provide responders int he community with the tools needed to deal with such emergencies.
